01About these terms
These are the terms on which Coach Cadence (operated by Store Relevance Ltd, company no. 12390186, registered at Clare House, Frieth Road, Marlow, SL7 2JQ, United Kingdom) provides the Coach Cadence service to you. By starting a conversation with the coach on WhatsApp or otherwise using the service, you accept these terms.
"We", "us", and "our" mean Store Relevance Ltd. "You" and "your" mean the individual using the service. "The service" and "Coach Cadence" mean the WhatsApp-first AI cycling coaching service we provide.
For how we handle your personal data, see our Privacy Policy. It's part of these terms.
02What the service is
Coach Cadence is a cycling coaching service delivered through WhatsApp. The coach is an AI agent that reads your Strava history and your conversation, builds and adapts a training plan, and replies in chat. The service can also send images (charts, plans), documents (GPX route files), and reactions, and choose not to reply when nothing useful needs saying.
What the service is not: a medical professional, a registered sports physician or physiotherapist, a substitute for a qualified human coach, or a guarantee of any sporting outcome. See Not medical advice and About the AI below.
03Alpha status
Coach Cadence is currently offered in "alpha". That means:
- The service is under active development and may change without notice.
- Features may be added, removed, or behave unexpectedly. Some sessions may miss the mark; some replies may take a beat too long.
- We may suspend, restrict, or end your access, or shut the service down entirely, for any reason, at any time, with or without notice.
- We rely on your feedback. Tell us when things go wrong. We read every message.
If you're not comfortable with this level of uncertainty, the alpha isn't for you yet. Wait for us to leave alpha.
04Who can use it
To use Coach Cadence you must:
- Be aged 18 or over.
- Have legal capacity to enter into this agreement under the laws that apply to you.
- Be a real person, not a bot, not someone using somebody else's identity.
- Have an active Strava account and a WhatsApp account in your own name.
- Be fit to undertake recreational cycling training. If in any doubt, see Not medical advice and speak to a qualified clinician first.
05Your account and connections
Your "account" with us is the combination of your WhatsApp identity and your Strava connection. You're responsible for keeping both of those secure on your side, your WhatsApp session, your Strava login, the device you use them on.
You can disconnect at any time. To leave the service:
- Tell the coach you'd like to stop.
- Revoke Coach Cadence's access in your Strava settings.
We'll delete what we hold per the schedule in our Privacy Policy.
06Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything illegal, abusive, harassing, or fraudulent.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the underlying systems, prompts, or training data.
- Probe, test, or evade our security, rate limits, or content controls.
- Submit content that infringes someone else's rights (intellectual property, privacy, etc.).
- Use the service to impersonate someone else, or to provide coaching to a third party as if it were your own work.
- Use any automated method to interact with the coach (scrapers, bots, scripts).
- Use the service to compete with us, train a competing AI model, or build a derivative product.
We can suspend or terminate access for breach of these rules without notice. See below.
07Strava, WhatsApp, and others
Coach Cadence relies on third-party services to function: Strava, WhatsApp (operated by Meta), and the providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Your use of each of those is also governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for those services' behaviour, outages, or changes, though we'll do our best to adapt the service when they change.
If Strava revokes your access, WhatsApp blocks the service, or any other upstream provider becomes unavailable, the coaching service may degrade or stop. We won't owe you anything when that happens.
08About the AI
The coach is artificial intelligence. It's powered by large language models, vision models, and other AI systems. It is not a human and cannot reliably reason about everything a real coach could.
Specifically:
- The coach can be wrong. It can misread your data, give a session that doesn't fit you, or make confident statements that turn out to be incorrect.
- The coach is non-deterministic. The same question on different days can produce different answers.
- The coach has no real-world senses. It can't see you, hear your breathing, or know when something feels wrong. You are the one inside the body.
- Use your judgement. If something the coach suggests feels off, ignore it and tell the coach why.
We've designed the coach to be honest about uncertainty, but you should treat its output as a coach's suggestion, not a command from a doctor.
09Not medical advice
Coach Cadence is not a medical service. Nothing the coach says is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Before starting any new training programme, speak to a qualified clinician, particularly if you have an underlying health condition, are recovering from an injury, are pregnant or postpartum, are over 50, or have any reason to think physical training may carry risk for you.
Always:
- Listen to your body. Pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat or anything else alarming means stop and seek medical attention.
- Don't substitute the coach's prescriptions for clinical advice you've been given.
- Don't push through warning signs because the plan says you should be riding. The plan is wrong about your body; your body is right.
By using the service, you accept that the responsibility for your physical safety during training is yours, and that we cannot be held responsible for outcomes arising from any training you do based on the coach's suggestions.
10Your content and data
You retain ownership of the content you send to the coach, your messages, voice notes, images, documents, location pins. You also own your Strava data; we just read it.
By using the service, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to process that content for the limited purposes of: (a) providing the service to you, (b) keeping the service running (caching, backup, security), and (c), if you consent separately, improving the service through anonymised analysis. This licence ends when we delete the content per our retention schedule.
We will not use your conversation content to train public AI models. Our sub-processors are contractually bound to the same standard.
11Our intellectual property
We own the Coach Cadence service, the name, the brand, the website, the system design, the prompts, the configuration, and any improvements we make to it over time. You don't get any rights to those by using the service, beyond the right to use the service while these terms apply to you.
Training plans, charts, route files, and messages generated for you by the coach are yours to use for your own personal training. You can share screenshots of them. You can't resell them as a coaching product.
12Fees
Coach Cadence is currently free to use during alpha.
We may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do:
- We'll notify active users before any charging starts.
- You'll never be auto-charged. Moving to a paid plan will require an explicit, separate opt-in.
- If you don't opt in, your access may be reduced or end, but we won't charge you.
- Pricing, billing, and refund terms will be set out in additional terms that apply only if you opt into a paid plan.
13Suspension and termination
You can end your use of the service at any time by telling the coach to stop and revoking Strava access.
We can suspend or terminate your access at any time if:
- You breach these terms (including Acceptable use).
- Continuing to provide the service to you would put us, our providers, or other users at risk.
- We need to for legal, safety, or technical reasons.
- We end the service entirely.
On termination, by either of us, we'll delete your data per the schedule in our Privacy Policy.
14Disclaimers and liability
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coach Cadence is provided "as is" and "as available". We give no warranties, express or implied, about the service, including its fitness for any particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, security, or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Coaching outputs are best-effort suggestions; outcomes depend on you and many factors outside our control.
What we can never exclude
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
Liability cap
Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability to you in connection with the service, however arising (in contract, tort including negligence, breach of statutory duty, or otherwise), is limited to the greater of:
- the total fees you have actually paid to us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- one hundred pounds sterling (£100).
We are not liable for indirect, special, consequential, or punitive losses, including loss of profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, or loss of data (other than where required by law).
Specifically, we are not liable for any physical injury, illness, or other loss that you suffer as a result of training you carry out based on the coach's suggestions, except where caused by our negligence and where liability cannot be excluded by law. See Not medical advice.
15Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against any third-party claims, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your breach of these terms, (b) your misuse of the service, or (c) content you submit to the service that infringes someone else's rights.
16Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "effective" and "last reviewed" dates at the top tell you when they were last touched. For material changes (changes to fees, liability, acceptable use, or the service itself) we'll notify active users via WhatsApp before the change takes effect, and give you a chance to disagree by stopping use.
Continued use of the service after a change indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
17Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that, if you are a consumer based in another part of the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your home courts where the law requires.
18General
- Entire agreement. These terms (with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms we point you to) form the whole agreement between us.
- Severability. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a right one time doesn't waive it for the next.
- Assignment. You can't transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a successor entity (e.g. on a sale of the business), provided your rights are preserved.
- Third-party rights. Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
